Because of our belief in the Sufficiency of Scripture and Sola Scriptura, we desire to know everything that God has said to us. We do not care to hear human opinions. We want to know what God has said in His Word. For this reason, we practice expository preaching. This means that a text is given, and the preacher or teacher explains what the text means.
On a regular basis, we will choose a book of the Bible and then go verse by verse through the entire book. In this way, the Spirit of God gets to choose what we learn. Everything God said is placed on equal ground before the people. We are not dependent upon the insights or whims of the teacher. God's Word is systematically explained to us.
From time to time, we will look at topics. Even these messages are expository. We will gather the passages that speak to the topic, examine what God says in those passages, and draw our conclusions based upon what God has said.
We have found this method to produce profound growth in our members. We learn things that we would never have thought we needed to learn! God's Word is infinite in its breadth and depth. By God's grace, we seek to know Him and His Word!
